The Wildlife Map of the Hebrides
6. Gress
This machair and river estuary holds similar birds to Coll, but has a greater range of plants, being particularly colourful in early summer, with seaaster adding to the splendour of the carpet of thrift. Small numbers of artic terns breed here and both grey and common seals may be seen from the shore. Great and artic skuas breed on the moor to the North of Gress.
